Congratulations and all the best wishes for a wonderful retirement life. Dolores officially retired from her position at Sundowners on August 28, 2015 just short of her 20th year of service. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Dolores started her career with Sundowners back in February 1996 and was hired as an assistant child care worker in the classroom. Dolores worked in the classroom bringing her mature, calm, knowledgeable experience to the children at Sundowners. She also offered her expertise of decorating and a keen eye displaying wonderfully creative bulletin boards and sharing her creative ideas with the children. In 1999 Dolores moved her skills and talents to the kitchen taking on the responsibilities of a cook. Her goals were to ensure that all children would receive nutritious, delicious and exciting meals each day that would contribute to their growth and development. Again Dolores exceeded expectations, cooking and preparing meals and snacks on a daily basis and always with the children’s needs in mind. Whichever centre Dolores was at children enjoyed eating their veggies, sometimes even before they ate one of every child’s favorite, pasta. Dolores not only nurtured the children she served but also never forgot her colleagues, always providing something extra just for them. One of our best memories about Dolores is when a Supervisor would show up at the administration office with a large container of rice crispy squares just for us and always when we needed a “fix”!
Thank you Dolores. Enjoy!
From all of us at Sundowners.
