Solar Eclipse – April 8, 2024

The following announcement was forwarded to Parents & Guardians on February 8, 2024:

 

As many of you have heard, there will be a full solar eclipse in Windsor-Essex on Monday, April 8, 2024.

The school boards have announced that children will be dismissed from school at 1:00 PM on April 8th.

Based on the school boards’ decision, licensing obligations, and to ensure the safety of our children, families and staff, Sundowners has made the difficult decision to close our centres at 12:00 PM on April 8.

What this means for kindergarten and school age children – Those children registered to attend before school, can attend their regular schedule that morning. The after school programs, however, will NOT operate at any location. Parents will need to make alternate arrangements for their children for the 1:00 pm school dismissal.

What this means for full day toddler & preschool programs: Children registered to attend that day will arrive as usual, but parents will be asked to pick up their child(ren) no later than 12:00 pm that day.

What this means for tuition: Due to the advance notice, every effort will be made to adjust your account accordingly so that the March 10th PAD payment will reflect this partial day. In the alternative, a credit will be applied to your account.

We understand the inconvenience this will cause our families. Our hope is with advance notice alternate arrangements can be made.
