A Whirligig

Use some thin yarn or string and a large button with two holes in it. Take a 12-inch piece of yarn and thread it through both holes in the button. Tie the ends of the yarn together in a knot. Slide the button to the centre of the yarn. Slip the ends of the yarn in the back of the first fingers on each hand. Twirl the button toward you until all the yarn is twisted. Pull the yarn straight between your two fingers to start the button whirling. Move your fingers closer as the yarn twists up again, then pull back to untwist. See how long you can keep the button whirling!
