Dictionary FUN!

Take a look through a dictionary and jot down ten unfamiliar words on a piece of paper. Do not look at the definitions of the words. One by one look at the words on the list and think of what the word might mean. Write down what you think the definition is beside it. After you have chosen a definition for each word, look up each of them again in the dictionary and get a laugh at how different your meaning was, or celebrate because you got the answer right. This game can also be played with a friend(s). Each of you makes a list with unfamiliar words. Taking turns you will each read out loud one word at a time. Players may award themselves a point for each definition to their word that they guessed correctly. If you did not guess correctly the person who chose the word scores the point. Whoever has scored the most points after everyone has had a chance to reveal their words is the winner.
